International Brahman Cattle Selection & Judging Course

Groveton & Hungerford, Texas – February 2026.– Just days before the world-renowned Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Texas will once again become the global meeting point for Brahman cattle excellence with the Bilingual Course Brahman Cattle Selection and Judging, scheduled for February 28 and March 1, 2026.
The program will take place in Groveton, Texas, at Casaray Ranch, and on its second day in Hungerford, Texas, at Heritage Cattle Company, two leading operations that reflect the strength, tradition, and genetic influence of the Brahman breed in its place of origin.
The event is organized by Brahman Friends and FLG Agrisolutions and will bring together participants from across the Americas for an intensive, hands-on educational experience focused on evaluation, functional selection, and the future of Brahman cattle in the global beef industry.
A major highlight of the course is the participation of outstanding U.S. cattlemen and educators, including renowned judge and breeder Judd Cullers, host of the second day at Heritage Cattle Company, and Dr. Joe Paschal, one of the most respected academic voices in beef cattle evaluation and selection.
At Casaray Ranch, the program will be hosted by Venezuelan-born veterinarian and international Brahman breeder Dr. César Castro, whose program has produced national and international champions in the United States. His operation in Groveton has become a reference point for progressive Brahman genetics and a bridge between North and Latin America.
The international panel also includes prominent Colombian cattle professionals Julio Gutiérrez, Fernanda Linares, and Jorge Silva, whose experience in tropical production systems brings valuable real-world perspective to the selection and functional efficiency of the breed.
This unique educational initiative highlights the importance of uniting the knowledge of cattle professionals from tropical countries—where Brahman plays a key role in beef production—with the genetic, technical, and historical foundation developed in Texas, the birthplace of the American Brahman.
Today, Brahman cattle are present in numerous countries across the globe, and it is from Texas that this genetic progress continues to expand, influencing herds and improving productivity in diverse environments.
By connecting leading U.S. operations with experienced cattlemen from tropical regions, the course strengthens international collaboration, accelerates genetic advancement, and reinforces Texas as the epicenter of Brahman innovation and global seedstock development.
